Poll Analysis

So you guys want to know the results of the poll? It looks like most people (80%) like hand me downs. I figured as much. And in case you were wondering who was the weasel that voted that trading clothes is gross, it was Bill. He just did it to be controversial - which I suppose that is what happens when you give options like that.

Peace out.

Working Hard for the Money

Today at work this girl told me I had a thick accent. She asked me where I am from. I said Utah. Then she said, yeah, that is totally a Utah accent. (I STRONGLY disagree - and she has never been to Utah). Then a fellow Utahan asked me where I was born, I said Kansas City. The girl said, "oh, so you're from the South? Now your accent makes way more sense."

For real, when did Kansas become part of the south?

New To Me

Last night, Bill and I met a friend for a most scrumptious dinner. It was a formal dining experience, which is always too bad, because requiring nice clothes seems to illicit a feeling severe awkwardness when you pull out your camera to ooh and aah over your food. Boo.

To the point. I wore a really cute dress suit to dinner that my cousin gave me. I love it. And I love hand-me downs. I can always use something fresh and new to wear whether it is new or used. But then I thought about it in reverse. Why would I want to anyone want my clothes? My clothes are ugly and boring. But one mans "trash" is another mans treasure. My cousin didn't want this suit any more for whatever reason, maybe she decided it was ugly, but I like it.

So my question is, do you like to be a recipient of hand me downs? Go take my poll, you'll like it.

Caught in the Act

Don't worry, my posts are boring myself. But I can only look at mullets and rat tails for so long. So here is a picture of our silly cat. Please disregard all the crap on the counter, I am a lazy butt, and apparently Bill is too. So the cat can open the cupboards. He likes to use this skill when we are sleeping and he wants to do something annoying enough to wake us up. So he opens the bathroom cupboard half way, and lets it slam shut. He also knows that we put his toys in there when we clean up the apartment. Because of this skill we have since moved his toys around. I bought him some toy mice and hid them in an above the counter cupboard. He discovered them, and started opening that door. So Bill moved his extra toys to the second drawer (seen above) too tall to stand up and open, too awkward of a position to open from above. But alas, he has outsmarted us all.

*no his toys are not with food or kitchen items, unless you count boxes of sandwich bags and tin foil as such. We are sanitary.
*I'm in a rut when it comes to blogging right now, can you tell?

Rat tails and Mullets

I went home this past weekend to hang out with my family. My darling niece was there and we discovered a little secret about her. Her long luscious locks are fake. She wears hair extensions. So my sister and I helped ourselves to her golden locks. Note we both have chin length hair.
The mullet - pulled around for show
I can't find the picture from the back to show how white trash my rat tail is, but it was long and stringy. It looked even better braided. Bill said it was hideous?!

Running Forum Posts

I like to read the forums at Runner*s W0rld. One forum I read occasionally is the women's forum, and on there you will find a rather zealous God fearing individual who post quite frequently. Here are the titles of her most recent posts.

Nutella + Jesus = Wednesday
Jesus is our rock - Tuesday
Hello again Monday - with Jesus
Satisfied Sunday with Jesus
Cast your cares on Jesus - Saturday
(She must have skipped Friday - nothing posted)
Jesus Jesus Jesus....Thursday
Wet and windy Wednesday with Jesus
Rev em' up Tuesday with Jesus
Motivating Monday with Jesus

You get the picture. I can't help but chuckle when I see the title of her posts.

Final Countdown

This is our last week house sitting. I have mixed emotions, I can't wait to be back in my own apartment with my own stuff, that works and that I like. But there are some things I'm really going to miss. I've been spoiled for the past couple of weeks.

Things I will miss:
*a garage. enough said.
*gas range - this is a must have when the day comes that we can buy a house.
*a yard - remember the deep fried oreos, we fried them outside in the back yard, because we could...and because frying smells up the house.
*washer & dryer. again, enough said.
*cleaning lady. She comes on Fridays apparently, because when I get home from work, little cleaning fairies have made the place sparkle. (and she vacuums up the dog hair, which is great because there does not seem to be a vacuum in the house for us to do it.)
*10 minute walk to work. I come home to have lunch with Bill everyday, and I L.O.V.E. it.
*oh yeah, I will miss Molly too.

Things I won't miss:
*Molly whining to go outside at 6:15 AM.
*Evil step neighbor (doesn't the step make her sound more terrible?) who complains about dog being let out at 6:15 AM.
*Molly only barks at the house with the evil step neighbor.
*the incredible amount of hair Molly produces!

Oh well, I think it was worth it to live in a house in a normal/nice neighborhood for 3 weeks. Our apartment feels so urban sometimes.
