Julie/Juli@ Project
Bill and I went and saw Julie & Juli@ last weekend. I liked it. Or maybe I should say, I liked Amy Adams and Juli@ Child. I mean, who doesn't like the woman who brought French cooking to servant less American women. I remember seeing her on TV, and unfortunately, I ignored her. She was kind of weird, had a weird voice, and it seems like it came on right after my other least favorite show, This Old House on Saturday mornings. But alas, after seeing this movie, I was inspired. So I picked up the book (that the movie is about) and I've discovered, as much as I like Julie's writing style, I don't like her. All the narrations in my head are by Amy Adams. I think it is time to move on to Julia's book asap. But in tribute to Julia, Bill and I are cooking a fine gourmet dinner. Frozen pizza and deep fried oreos. I'm sure Julia would be rolling in her grave.

Yummy! How do you make deep fried oreos?
We saw it too and liked it. I loved Meryl Streep, and I thought Amy Adams did a pretty good job too.
We went home after the movie and found Julie Powell's blog, and it lessened my opinion of her. I thought she was obnoxious.
Melissa- they are so easy, and disgustingly bad for you. All you do is mix up some Bisquick or other pancake batter, dip your Oreo in and throw it into the fryer. Top with powdered sugar. Yum.
Danielle- yeah, she was witty but morally disgusting. I also got tired of her incessant jabs are Republicans. The only people you can hate on principal are prostitutes.
YOU DON'T LIKE THIS OLD HOUSE!?!?!?! HORRORS!!! But the oreos sound good (I think Tyler would freak out if I tried to serve him those, though!)
Yeah, I read both books. Have you read My Life in France? You would love it. The other book is awful. I read it way before the movie came out and I couldn't understand why they made it into a movie. And the movie makes it look like it would be such a fun book. Read the Julia Child book.
I feel the same way about Julie and her blog. I read a couple posts and lost interest. But I did like her idea of cooking goose instead of turkey for Thanksgiving.
